"Preaching Pedophile": Darrell Gilyard is Back in Pulpit - His Church Agrees to Ban Minors from Worship So Adults Can Hear the Sex Offender Preach!

“It was refreshing and invigorating." Darrell Gilyard describing how it felt to preach again after being released from jail as a registered sex offender.
------------------
Unbelievably, Darrell Gilyard is back preaching at a Baptist church in Jacksonville. Read Jeff Brumley's article here at the Times Union website.

Mark it down, Gilyard, the slick preacher who for years and years was able to fool churches into hiring him as a "man of God", allowing him to seduce the women of his churches into having sex with him, is going to have another shot at another church and more women.

As hard as it is to believe, another church has fallen for the Gilyard charisma. This time it is Christ Tabernacle Baptist Church on the north side of Jacksonville. Of course to keep Gilyard from violating the conditions of his parole the church has barred minors from attending the church services, and Gilyard can't do any marriage counseling; at least not that Gilyard's parole officer will know.

Not a bad choice of churches for a man who likes to seduce young women. Christ Tabernacle Baptist Church is nestled in between two public schools with plenty of young girls: the Stanton College Preparatory School about 1/4 mile to the west, and the Andrew Robinson Elementary School 1/4 mile to the east.

Parents who have kids at these schools, hide your children. Husbands, hide your wives, Darrell Gilyard is in your neighborhood. He carries a bible, speaks of Jesus and love, but at virtually every every church he has been at he has seduced women into having sex with the "man of God".

How can a convicted, registered sex offender be hired to preach at a location in close proximity to an elementary and high school? Is not the state of Florida going to protect boys and girls from this predator?

If you are shocked that Gilyard's parole officer has approved this work arrangement for Gilyard, contact the Florida Department of Corrections parole office here. Parents who have kids at Stanton Prep and at Andrew Robinson Elementary, contact Duval County Public Schools here.

What is going on in Christianity? Eddie Long, just a year after he settles a case with the men who accused him of grooming them for homosexual sex, was ordained recently as a "king" in his church and is paraded around the congregation lifted up on a throne.

Will anybody involved in promoting Gilyard in the past come out and speak against this atrocity of Gilyard preaching again, and taking a job at a church so close to two public schools?

Jerry Vines, Paige Patterson, will you finally speak up and speak out publicly against this charleton going back to preaching?

  2. He paid his debt to society. If they want him as Pastor, so what? He has to work or he will be on food stamps.

Leave him alone, he did his time.

  3. Prediction: you will hear a Jay Leno joke about this next week, that a church has banned minors from the worship service so they could hire a pedophile preacher.

You definitely can't make this stuff up, and it makes it all the more challenging to come up with an April Day's spoof post.

  4. Johnny, two stories this week that absolutely not even Saturday Night Live would have dared to parody.

A sexual deviant pastor in Atlanta gets crowned "king" by a Jewish man and is paraded around the church on a throne holding a Jewish scroll, and the kiddos are removed from worship here in Jax so the parents can bring in a convicted pedophile.

This is why many non-Christians view bible-believing evangelicals as dangerous and not of sound mind.

  5. This is absolutely the sickest thing I have ever heard of. What kind of people go to that church that they would even consider doing such a thing? Maybe you should contact Jerry Vines, Paige Patterson, and Charles Stanley and ask them they think. They are the ones who used to stand up in pulpits and introduce him as the "next Billy Graham."

  6. "He paid his debt to society."

And in light of Eternity (Trillions and Trillions of years) who will even remember.
Just a few people who were victimized for a few minutes, and then, they may be in Hell anyway, so who cares (99% of the population will be there, "straight is the way .... few that be will find it".)

    Keep this Religion going ....

  7. According to a
    SBC Pastor Ken Whitten

Darrell Gilyard, Eddie Long and many others are only victims, who were enticed by younger brothers and sisters who knowingly dressed and acted inappropriately.

    LOL

    Sadly, a very true statement.

  10. Well if one reads the original article then you would see the church normally has less than 10 in attendance. They did have 150 the first Sunday he preached.

I do not think he was calling them victims. He was stating the temptations that is out there and we need to be careful. Plus there is not enough of the clip to support what you are saying. Ultimately in the end we are responsible how we respond to those temptations.

Sure sounds like he's after those Jezebels that are tempting him, as he accuses them of trying to seduce him with thier attire in his sheltered recluse of the church.

  13. This is sick - now the church will welcome even more pedpophile's.

As long a Gilyard has a probation officer monitoring him, his debt to society has not been paid.

Thanks W/D fpr the post - if not, for your blog many of us would not have been aware - the victim's have years ahead for their recovery.

  15. News Story

"The arrangement came about after a mutual friend of Newman’s and Gilyard’s connected the two parties.

They wouldn’t say who that was, but Deacon Elliott Chatman said it was more than coincidence that Gilyard became available just when the congregation needed fresh leadership.

“It’s the first time in my 70 years that I can say I saw a miracle happen,” Chatman said."

  16. How exactly does a member of this church go about inviting others? That could be one interesting conversation.

    ReplyDelete
  17. That's easy...the church members can go to the Dept of Corrections website, do a search on sexual predators, find Gilyard and print out the "poster" report they have for each registered sex offender. They just hand out his D.O.C. posters to prospective church members.

So, the problem isn't really pedophile pastors is it?

It's nuts like this guy that allow them to continue to abuse victims.

  20. I understand the need for informing people of the churches / pastors wrong life choices. I understand the comparison used of Paul dealing with Peter. There is no doubt that Paul will be known for his preaching to saving message of Jesus and his desire to see lost men everywhere saved.

It is sad that many on here will forever be known for sharing about and exposing other peoples sin, rather than being used of God to point people to Jesus.

At the end of the day it can be said that because of this sight and the contributors, many people are now better informed. A good thing, but I do wonder if it is the best thing.

A lost world can learn here who the other sinners are but what are they learning about the one who died to forgive them of their sin?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ask the mother & family how they feel about monters like Gilyard standing in a pulpit preaching jailhouse religion - their little one was sexually abused, and dumped in the garbage. Good for the new black panther's standing up to protect our little ones.

Gilyard needs to find another career - it will happen again, I have little respect for his parole officer for even allowing this to even be allowed.

  22. "A lost world can learn here who the other sinners are but what are they learning about the one who died to forgive them of their sin?"

    Lets See

Darrell Gilyard was supposedly one of the "saved" ones?

Eddie Long was supposedly one of the "saved" ones?

John Langworthy was supposedly one of the "saved" ones?

Paul Williams was supposedly one of the "saved" ones?

Dr. Bob Gray was supposedly one of the "saved" ones?

Brian Brijbag was supposedly one of the "saved" ones?

and the list goes on and on....

So much for redemption, didn't do much for the victims of these "saved" ones does it?

So your answer to the simple question, in bold above, "nothing!".

  24. Apparently there is great evil in the world. But I think that's always been true.
Children get molested in these United States. But I think through-out the history of mankind children have been molested, abused and killed.
We have, in the last couple of decades done pretty much all we can to stop children from being molested, abused and killed. But it still goes on. Sin and evil never go away.

We are a broken world; we so need a redeemer.

Bro. Gilyard, I hope he never offends again but statistics are against him. I find myself neither surprised nor shocked. Great is the evil among us and within us. Given a different upbringing, I could be Darrell Gilyard.

  27. Whatever happened to the idea that a pastor must be blameless?

  31. "Times have changed."

But our God has not. Let's try, no matter how much times have changed to keep the Word as the standard by which we live and judge.

  32. "PLUS Peter cussed! David loved sex killed a man! Delilah got to Sampson lets move on"

Excusing bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior.

Move on - the term Bill Clinton used to excuse his bad behavior.

I'll bet the victims wish the could just "move on."

  33. The Bible teaches forgiveness....we should forgive others their trespasses, since Christ have forgave us. Additionally, we should never condemn anyone who speaks & teaches God's truth!
