Sorry, Eddie Long, you weren't the first preacher to be wrapped in a sacred Jewish scroll. Paula White beat you to the punch.
Readers, thought you might like to see this old video footage from DayStar Network of Paula White being wrapped in the scroll by the same Jewish man that wrapped Eddie Long in the scroll a few weeks ago.
Notice this occurred on the "DayStar" network - the same network that Robert Jeffress, Jack Graham, Charles Stanley, and Ed Young Sr. currently broadcast their TV shows on. And on DayStar these SBC'ers are joined by such theological giants as Joel Osteen, Kenneth Copeland, Bennie Hinn, and Joyce Meyer.
It is just priceless to watch Paula act emotional, and wipe away a tear exclaiming "Shew!! Woo!" as she just can't believe the magnitude of what is happening to her.
Love the comment that the Jewish man makes: "He says [God] 'You're so sacred to the body of Christ, I'm wrapping you in the Word of God'."
Yes, Paula is so sacred to the body of Christ.
Further proof that these people are nothing more than actors and performers: like Eddie Long Paula was able to keep a straight face through it all and not burst out laughing.
Southern Baptists, when can we start doing something like this to our mega church pastors?

This is so funny. So, when a leader needs a new beginning-like after a divorce or sex with teenagers, it's time to bring out the scroll! They need a scrolling!

ReplyDeleteYou are right about the other SBC so-called giants that give these charlatan tv networks works credibility. We can't sell those books or anything else without advertizing now can we. I don't have any use for any of these grubbers,SBC grubbers included.
ReplyDeleteRalph Messer (not Messner) is neither Jewish, nor is he a Rabbi in that religion. He is a "Christian" who has found an economically beneficial niche in the Hebrew Roots movement among some evangelicals. No "real" rabbi would wrap a persons body in the Torah. Heck, a rabbi will not even touch a Torah scroll with his finger. Messer is a fraud, but like P.T. Barnum said: "there's a sucker born every minute." People like Messer and those he has wrapped are all too happy to do whatever it takes to separate those suckers from their money and from a genuine faith in God through Christ Jesus.

They have literally been sold a case or two of "good old fashioned snake oil" from a snake oil salesman ... that is the GOSPEL truth there my friend - they were fooled, hoodwinked, and made out to be laughing stocks.

It is hard to believe that adults who supposedly know something about Bible, God's work, etc., will fall for such nonsense. WOW! I am stunned. I thought it was a joke at first when I saw newly crowned "King Long" being lifted up in his chair and paraded around the stage. It was pitiful! It was sad! It was a farce! I did not know if I should laugh of cry for the stain it brought upon the church and its leaders.
Please pastors - THINK and PRAY B4 you make silly and foolish decisions.
I used to donate to Daystar until Marcus Lamb, the founder, CEO, and President was exposed in Nov. 2010, of having a lengthy affair with his executive assistant, Janice Smith. I don't even watch Daystar AT ALL any more. The Lambs should resign!

I think that Jim is essentially correct.
While Messianic traditions about how the Sefer Torah is handled vary, the vast majority of Messianic Jews would agree that how Mr. Messer handled his Sefer Torah or what seems to be his Sefer Torah in these situations was inappropriate for one reason or another. But the main reason is that Messianic Jews are currently struggling to get Messianic Judaism accepted as a valid form of Judaism by traditional Judaists. And, pursuant to this, Messianic Jews would never jeopardize these efforts by handling a Sefer Torah—one of the most holy objects in traditional Judaism—in such a questionable manner. To the contrary, if anything, Messianic Jews would selectively incorporate traditional Judaist traditions about how to handle the Sefer Torah into their own traditions in order to demonstrate how Messianic Judaism maintains traditional Judaism’s Jewish identity.
And, as far as traditional Judaist traditions about how the Sefer Torah is handled are concerned, they would generally be stricter than their Messianic counterparts and, without question, have no tolerance for handling a Sefer Torah in such a manner.
So, with these Sefer Torah wrapping incidents in mind, I think that the time has come for Messianic Judaists to proactively and unequivocally divorce themselves from Hebrew Roots Christians once and for all. Otherwise, they are going to drag them down with nonsense like this.
Thanks, I Thes. 5:21, but I know of no Messianic community that claims relationship or affiliation with Messer. He's just a free-standing fraud who knows how to fleece sheep; much like Ergun Caner. Just another side of the same counterfeit coin.

His Word is perfect and He is a shield....You are trying to make these people out to be nuts but they just believe the Word.
They have the Word up in their head. Maybe you ought to read it sometime...I think you have your head up somewhere else....
If the scroll is as described, a Holocaust scroll, couldn’t the Jewish community have it seized as a stolen relic?
