The Many Faces of Christian Bloggers, as Seen By Our Critics....

The many faces of Christian bloggers, at least as seen by our critics....

and of course we know Steven Furtick and Ed Young, Jr. see us as "haters", and others choose to see us as mentally ill and dangerous.

But unlike those who have nothing but words of disdain and condemnation for us, we still love you, our pastors and former pastors and our critics. But we will speak the truth according to our conscience, and will continue to stand for our faith as we are commanded to do in scripture.

  1. Man, I don't know how they managed to get all those photo's of me, I thought I had them stashed on a secret no go file on my computer.

  2. WD,

The pictures are HILARIOUS! My first good laugh of the day. Thanks!

But, your writing how you still love all these people reminded me of the relief I feel being an agnostic. I don't have to love everybody or pretend that I do. I can just be a regular person who loves some people, really doesn't enjoy others, yet can easily feel like and empathy for almost everybody. It's such a relief!

But let me say again that I LOVE the pictures-so funny. ( Liar, Liar is a great movie, for anyone who hasn't seen it.)

  3. I wouldn't go as far as to say that you love the people you write about. It sure doesn't show in your writings.

Dawg, I think that is where the RUB is. Bloggers speaking their interpretation of the truth "according to their own conscience"!

It depends on how you define the word Love - by the culture's definition (regarding all behavior as equally acceptable) or by the Bible's definition (correcting false teachings and false teachers) as Jesus did during his ministry.

AMEN! I wish others could see we are more like Jesus.

  8. Imagine John the Baptist as a 21st century blogger:

Mt 3:7 But when he (John) saw many Pharisees and Sadducees coming to be baptized, he said to them, "You poisonous snakes! Who showed you how to flee from God's coming anger?

    Or Apostle Paul: Gal5:11-12

11Brothers and sisters, if I am still preaching that circumcision is necessary, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the cross wouldn't be offensive anymore.12 I wish those troublemakers would castrate themselves.

    Or even Jesus: John 8:43-44a

43 Why don't you understand the language I use? Is it because you can't understand the words I use?44 You come from your father, the devil, and you desire to do what your father wants you to do....

    Now that's love talking!

  9. Wow. Watchdog is on the same level with Martin Luther and the Reformers.

Be careful of flattering yourself, or deceiving yourself for that matter.

  10. I'm glad someone like the FBC WD has given their personal time to writing a blog like this -besides I believe the Watchdog is gifted in written communication as well as having a quick wit to respond to us whether we agree or disagree!

  12. February 28, 6:20 PM If blogging were available in 16th century Germany, I am confident Martin Luther would have been a blogger and would have addressed some of the same issues WD has highlighted.

  13. Good on FBC Jax Watchdog. It's even a blessing and a laugh at times to me way down here in Christchurch New Zealand beteween the South Pacific and Tasman Sea, see. Read some more Reformed stuff from Monergism.com though, do you ALL a lot of good.

  14. The mentioning of Martin Luther was an attempt as self-deprecating humor.

  15. Why so sensitive??

I don't understand why tearing down God's men is such a calling for you?

I guess if you are not doing anything, why not try to destroy those who are....coward!

  16. Man I love your blog. I have reading random Jacksonville blogs all day. Yours takes the cake thanks for the awesome group of information.

  17. Let me get this right, (correcting false teachings and false teachers) is how the Bible defines love? Interesting that Paul never mentions anything like that in his lengthy definition of love in I Cor.13. so go ahead and define love any way you like, but it's no mystery why folks just don't believe the "love" professed here is genuine.

  18. "(correcting false teachings and false teachers)

Not correcting false teachings is hating correcting false teachings and not correcting false teachers is hating false teachers and those that blindly follow them to a hellish end. Warning the wicked to flee from the wrath to come is one of the most loving things you can do. And false teachings and false teachers ARE wicked...they destroy souls.

  19. While I check your blog daily, I wait a couple of days for folks to "correct" you about your theology, philosophy, perspective, etc.

Don't let them get to you or bother you. I appreciate your wit and comments every time. You're spot on so keep it up!

BTW, if the meek inherit the earth I have a pretty good idea what some of the other folks get.

  22. Anonymous Feb. 29, 8:48 AM, Your assumption that these are "God's men" is the heart of the issue. I submit that "God's men" do not conduct themselves as if money and ego were their gods. When did Mac, or Ergun,or Ed jr., or any of the other bad-actor preachers show one ounce of humility and Christlikeness? These men are showmen; God's men...not so much.

  23. Randy,

We are somewhat on the same page here. Except, I check this blog daily to see who the dog is "correcting" about their theology, philosophy, perspective, etc.

Speaking of I Cor. 13, how are the men you worship in ANY way like this?

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth."

That is the polar opposite of the men discussed on this site.

  25. Did you know that Jesus taught the tithe in the Sermon on the Mount? Yep, according to Perry Noble, "Seek ye first the Kingdom" was a direct reference to the Old Testament tithe, and if you tithe ("seek first"), then all the other things (your needs) will be provided.

Can this first fruits tithing doctrine get any sicker or more twisted?

See my post AND video tonight.

Let me get this right, not correcting false teachings and false teachers (and letting them go to hell) is how the Bible defines love?

You are criticizing WD (and calling it hate) for the exact same thing that Jesus did in his day.

Try explaining that one on judgment day.

  28. Bloggers (and especially this one) tend to think they know everything about everything Christian and can say anything about anyone without any thought. Don't kid yourself about these Christian bloggers. They are usually the ones who started the whole thing and then want to come off as pure as snow and innocent of any wrongdoing.

    Wrong.

  30. Do you find it strange that most bloggers like to consider themselves so wise that they are correcting error in everyone but themselves. The worst part is that most bloggers and posters on this blog don't tithe and probably aren't even active members of any church.

And who appointed you as the ones to correct error in anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  31. The thing about this blog is you can come here without a veil of hypocrisy and post whatever you want. How many churches is that true of?

Amen and Amen! "veil of hypocrisy" is the perfect phrase.

  33. "Do you find it strange that most bloggers like to consider themselves so wise that they are correcting error in everyone but themselves."

Actually, I have corrected errors in my beliefs by reading this blog. Iron sharpens iron.

"The worst part is that most bloggers and posters on this blog don't tithe and probably aren't even active members of any church."

Since the nearly all of the posters are anonymous, how did you come to that conclusion?

"And who appointed you as the ones to correct error in anyone?"

The apostle Paul. He praised the Bereans for testing his teaching against the scriptures.

Sort of the opposite of what you are doing.
