James Duncan Interview on Fighting for the Faith Radio Program

Readers - below is an hour-long interview of Dr. James Duncan, conducted on 1/14/13 by Chris Rosebrough of the Fighting for the Faith radio program. In the interview Dr. Duncan describes what he learned during the discovery process of his lawsuit against Perry Noble and NewSpring Church, which was settled before it went to trial.

It is a real eye-opener as to how mega churches with rock star preachers operate. Really, there is no one so hated by these pastors and their followers than the person who dares to publicly and consistently criticize their beloved pastor. Not even child molesters within their own ranks get anywhere close to the treatment of a criticizing blogger and his spouse.

I've got a couple of posts coming that will try to boil down all of this information into lessons we can all learn from Dr. Duncan's experience.

Since my last post on this matter January 3rd, Dr. Duncan has posted some more blog articles, so visit his site to get the latest.

Watch the Lance Armstrong interview on television this week. I think you will notice some eerie similarities.

Lance tried to destroy the reputations of those who dared to speak the truth about him.

Sound familiar?

James made an important point in this interview. Perry contacts James beginning with the words "God told me." Not only would James have been breaking the 11th commandment by not meeting with Perry without lawyers, but God would have also told James just as he supposedly told Perry.

One more comment because as you know Watchdog, this is a pet peeve or a subject I am passionate about, Chris Rosebrough said throughout the interview when referring to incidents and Perry, that this is not Christianity and he is right. What James Duncan went through at the hands of New Spring, is more cult than Christianity and this is my concern. I am going to be blunt here.

I remember Perry Noble's activities being brought out in another blog several years ago, and it was ignored by Christians.

Cult like churches are integrating into Southern Baptist life and mainstream Christianity and being accepted by Christians. If they call themselves Baptist, Southern Baptist, or put the words Christ, or a name like New Springs etc. people flock to them. Listen to the sermons. Big clues in there.

One of the BIGGEST signs that you are in a cult is if the congregation is "elder ruled". When the people do not get to vote on things. In this cult like style of leadership, a cult leader could even get away with stealing another mans sermons and preaching them for many years, and the congregation still can't do anything about it because of the "yes man" elders that protect the chief wolfe in charge.

This is why God is calling His people to come out of the harlot religious system.

A couple of weeks ago, when I asked people why Clayton King would not warn people about Ergun Caner, I did not know he was connected to Perry Noble. Honestly in 2009, I only knew the name Clayton King, because he did several things at Liberty.

It is hard to describe Dr. Duncan's story with any other words than "WOW". Perhaps pastors should spend a little more time preaching against those that criticize bloggers.

What I do not understand why do these preachers appeal to so many people?
