Please, for the Love of the Almighty, Would Someone Buy the Brunson's Last Two Cabins on the Luxury Med Cruise???

We interrupt this blog to bring forth a special request to assist FBC Jax during the month of December:

Would someone, anyone, maybe a wealthy person at FBC Jax, maybe one of the FBC Jax Sunday School classes, maybe our new Jacksonville Jags owner Shahid Khan....would you please buy the remaining two cabins on the Brunson's Deluxe Mediterranean Cruise on the Norwegian Jade?

FBC Jax has been hawking this cruise for about 4 or 5 months now. They extended the original registration deadline, now they are hawking those last two cabins. If someone could find it in their heart to purchase these two last luxury cabins at about $3000 per person or around $12,000, FBC Jax could finally remove this advertisement from their website scrolling marquee, and they could remove it from the sanctuary pre-worship announcement slides.

The cruise will be a great time. While it really has nothing to do with a ministry of the church or spreading the gospel or helping anyone, you will be able to rub shoulders with the pastor and other big wigs from FBC Jax. Even if you have to take a little bit of money from what you would have given to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, you will be blessed indeed by joining the Brunsons on this cruise.

So let's get going, and make it a goal to get the ad removed from the FBC Jax website by December 10th.

It is astounding to me that the people of FBCJ continue to put up with this. Deacons, you are responsible for this. None of you obviously have the guts to challenge this guy. Shame on you.

This is why Mac is extending apologies, he has trips coming up and wants the congregation to believe he's a saint.

I'm assuming he and honey will make their annual shopping trip to New York this month (missinary work of course, at our expense).

I went on one of their trips - during the entire trip Mac never even asked me my name, only said "hello" and hung out with his rich buddies. Very obvious to not only myself but others as well.

Mac and the leadership are like a pack of dogs - after a while people run from their territory.

FBCJ is no longer a church - it's a social club with hand picked pansy waist deacons who have been a big part in the destruction of this church.

Keep the strings playing W/D - you have a lot of folks who appreciate their work.

God Bless Mac Brunson and his wife Debbie. I hope they have a wonderful time on their cruise, and anybody else that decides to join them.

I just bought them. The cruise should be fun and Mac Brunson is an excellent expositor.

While Mac may well be an egotistical pig, what is going on in some of the hearts on this blog is sad. I've never seen cumulative hate for one man in my life. You should be ashamed.

Yea ,this guy uses the church as his own personal travel agency and the bloggers should be ashamed of themselves for stating an opinion about it.

Hate is something that you feel for someone or something that matters.

I don't think that hate is the proper description of the emotions that are expressed on this blog.

Anonymous said...

Your post proves my point exactly about the hate on this blog.

Anonymous said...

Indeed; I would characterize the most prevalent reactions here as shock, horror, incredulity, disbelief, etc.

Anonymous said...

If someone posts an opinion different from your own, surely it must be because they "hate" it.

Dawg. You should use some of the money from the citizens of Jacksonville and go at the last minute! Now that would be classis!

I think it's all good as long as there is a picture of the pastor and family, deacons, whoever enjoying their cruise. The picture should be on a big screen up front while the pastor is guilting people in the pews about how much money is needed to win lost souls, feed the poor, visit those in prison, help the missionaries. He can talk passionately about how their money is needed for all these crucial things. Behind him could be the picture of him waving as the cruise ship leaves the port. That way, people wouldn't be presented with just a serious man of God yelling at them. They would have a more well-rounded portrait of who is talking to them and supposedly speaking for God himself.

There is a huge difference between "posting an opinion" and "ripping someone to shreds." Just read the blog and its posts and you don't have to even answer that thought. It is a blog conceived in hate, motivated by hate, and maintained by hate.

Talk about hate! Here I am trying to do good, helping out FBC Jax in raising the money needed for the last two cabins of the luxury Med cruise with the pastor - which is one of the most important ministries of the church judging from how long it has been pushed - and all you want to do is rip me to shreds! Can't a guy get a break? No good deed goes unpunished, as they say.

You WD haters just keep going and going and going. Your comments are conceived in hate and motivated by hate. Now I know how Tim Tebow feels. We both are just serving the Lord, and all we get is grief! Now I know how Job felt also.

But I will not be thwarted, I will keep doing good even in the face of your attacks. You didn't call me into being a blogger, and you can't call me out of it!

FBC Jax members: some other ideas to raise the needed funds for these last two cabins:

1. Perhaps one of the Arms Around Jacksonville projects can be to raise the $12,000 needed. Maybe the Middle Schoolers can hold a car wash, or an adult class could collect money at Blanding and Kingsley, using a pastor's Florsheim (like the fireman collect it in a boot).

2. This week, use the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering envelopes to make a special offering. Cross off "Lottie Moon" and put "Med Cruise - Last Two Cabins", and contribute to this worthy cause.

3. Use the Arms Around Jacksonville money donated so far to purchase the tickets, then raffle them off at the Pastors Conference to make the money back. You might see an increase in PC ticket sales if you put an ad up that there will be a Med Cruise giveaway.

Those are just some ideas. Again, I really am trying to help here. I know how important it is to sell those last two tickets to your church and your pastor.

You know, instead of trying to sell these last cabins, maybe Mac could donate these last cabins to families who have had a difficult time over the last year and need a break.

Maybe a family who has a terminally ill member who would enjoy spending a relaxing time but cant afford it due to med bills, etc or maybe a family who is struggling financially and needs a break.

Just a thought!

Calling Mac an egotistical pig and then saying some of the hearts on this blog is sad - I don't recall anyone defining Mac this way - pretty strong opinion on their part I would say = strong language on their end as well!

I don't believe anyone who shares their opinion on this blog hates Mac. Pretty much that I've read on the blog has been documented with truth.

"You didn't call me into being a blogger, and you can't call me out of it!"

I love that line!

While I would like to travel outside of the U.S. one day, I don't need a church to be my own personal travel agent.

Exposing false prophets and whipping the money changers is also doing the good work.

If a mime is performing and accidently steps in front of a speeding bus, and I laugh, my reaction is not motivated by "hate".

Ridiculing a charlatan is not "hate".

This is so overblown.

The reason we don't worry about this, the Apostle Paul went on Cruises. So did Jesus.

Nowhere does the Bible say it is wrong to go on vacation.

Bark up another tree Dog, this blog is a tool of Satan.

Please lay off Mac.

He is hurting and this cruise is a non issue to us.

I agree completely. That is why I put this post up, to try and help get 4 more souls on that cruise while there's still time.

I love that - use the Lottie Moon offering envelopes; cross out Lottie Moon and write Vacation Cruise.
That's so inspired.

Anon 9:19Pm . . .I don't think Mac is hurting to much with the lifestyle he lives.

I really think the focus is on the wrong person.. its the decons and trustees that should be held responsible for the atrocities that continue to go on at FBCJAX. They will be held accountable by God for their actions or lack of actions. If they were true men of God, Bible believing deacons/trustees they would require Brunson to either tow the line or get out. God have mercy on their souls.

I hope the TROLL never stops posting.

I check this blog each morning to read his comments and get a good belly laugh.

Today was a classic indeed.

Here are my favorite lies uh lines.

"The reason we don't worry about this, the Apostle Paul went on Cruises. So did Jesus."

First, I like the part where he pretends to speak for everyone by using "we." Who is we? The kool-aid drinkers?

I know the troll is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I believe even he can tell the difference in an all expense paid luxury cruise and a row boat.

"Nowhere does the Bible say it is wrong to go on vacation."

Straw man argument.

"Bark up another tree Dog, this blog is a tool of Satan."

Go haunt another bridge troll. You are a pawn of Beelzebub.

"Please lay off Mac."

Please lay off WD.

"He is hurting and this cruise is a non issue to us."

This is my favorite lie uh line.

He's profiting from a luxury country-club cruise and yet you are still trying to make him the victim. Pardon the pun, but that is rich!

Speak for yourself troll. Believe me - no one else wants you representing them.

Its always hilarious to see people on here say that you don't believe the Bible if you disagree with them. I wonder if they ever actually entertain the thought that they might be the ones who are wrong.

The reason that trolls and mega churches keep on rollin' is that people devote way too much of their energy to them.

How dare you compare yourself to Tim Tebow ! He would never act as you do on this blog. You are the biggest hypocrite there is on these pages. The nerve that you would spout the hate you have in your heart for others to read and then suggest that you are anything like Tim. Just for this statement alone, you should pack it up ! We'd love it ! Then... Merry Christmas to US !
