For some Monday morning humor, take a look at William Tapley below as he sings of destruction and hell and damnation - to a light, happy, upbeat tune that you might expect to hear on Sesame Street. He's not trying to be funny, this is part of his ministry.
My favorite verse:
America is Babylon
And her story's almost done.
She rides a beast, the beast is sore,
and now that beast will burn that whore.
It's prophesied, It's prophesied,
When Babylon the whore get's fried.
No wonder the lost world thinks Christians are nuts.
Thanks to Chris Rosebrough, on Pirate Christian Radio, who brought this to his listeners' attention last week.

I don't think it is funny because I think he is right.
WD-
I just got my 2011 FBCJAX Pastor's Conference brochure and this guy is one of the guest singers for the conference!
This is gonna be AWESOME!
I don't believe he's right. We have no idea when Christ is returning. I've been hearing it's the end since I was a teen and my parents before that, their parents before that. I think it's time we begin living in the here and now. On this Spuregon had it right. His sermons were mostly for the presenting of Christ period. He said there were enough of those sermons in the Bible to keep him preaching for a lifetime.
Mac the Knife is done the same way. But Brecht and Weill were using the dissonance to try to shake up the bourgeosie.
Well Debbie, I think you may be in for a real suprise, real soon. To use an earthly example, the Titanic wasn't supposed to sink either, but it did. All of the signs have been fulfilled. They were not fulfilled in your parents day, or in Spurgeons day. 1948, when Israel was again a nation was the kick-off to the count down. Keep your eye on Israel, it's the key. And, keep your eye on the Eastern sky. Jesus is coming soon...and the sooner the better.
Simply and totally embarrassing.
Christians have been predicting the date of the 2nd coming for 2000 years, and so far they have a 100% accuracy record for being wrong.
Thousands (if not millions) of predictions have been made since 1948 and again the accuracy rate is 100% wrong.
That's one of the problems with newspaper eschatology. The names and dates change. The false predictions are the only constant.
It has gone way beyond crying wolf. If Christ doesn't know the day or the season, neither do you. No exceptions.
For those who are tempted to agree with him, you may want to consider the source.
In his video: "Bible Prophecy," William Tapley predicts that Obama will start WW3 in 2009/2010.
"WW3 will begin long before we see 2012."
"You need to prepare for WW3 now, because it will occur in the next 20 months - that is sometime between 2009 and 2010."
"If you wait until 2012, you will be too late."
Here's my prediction, when it doesn't happen, he will claim that we have graciously been given more time and revise his dates
or
he will disappear and someone will take his place with a new date.
The world is laughing.

I don't think he is actually playing his keyboard. He's a fake. He is "finger syncing" on the keyboard.
Anonymous Aug. 17, 10:27, I don't believe the world is laughing. No one gives two hoots for the ramblings of this modern "prophet of doom," or any others like him. Were he a "prophet" he would weep for those he believes to be condemned. He, on the other hand, seems to derive some kind of sadistic joy from his special knowledge. He sounds more like a political operative than a prophet.
For those of you that don't think Jesus is coming soon, I certainly hope you are prepared now to see Him. I am not a member of any religious "cult", nor do I listen to any doomsday scenerios.....I read, study my Bible and pray...that's all, and I feel we are very close. Do you not know that those who look for His coming receive a crown to lay at His feet. If you can look at circumstances in this world today and not see things coming down to finality then you are blind. Things are lined up as never before. We are now dealing with "religious" wars and ideologies. Circumstances are set perfectly according to Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation for Jesus to come. As I said before Israel is the key, and everything else is prophetically in line. I am looking and praying for Jesus to come. Don't think for one moment that because He hasn't come already, that He won't come soon. "Even so come quickly Lord Jesus". I am ready, are you?
I really do believe America is seeing "birth pains" of what is to come, but like Debbie, none of us know when Christ is coming - what I'm finding is that unbelievers are willing to listen to Christians as they want what we have.
I didn't like the part of "whore" and found his mocking the President offensive. I absolutely am no Obama fan but calling anyone a leopard is offensive.
As another blogger said I too feel this is "simply
and totally embarrassing."
William Tapley >> Well, You Just Have to See This One to Believe It
I bet about 11 years ago Mr. Tapley was running around crying, "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!"

I suspect that all Christians know that Christ will come again, but not when.
Besides, it is a consistent teaching of my church, that your "end of the world" might come sooner than you expect, for no one is promised tomorrow, or even the rest of today.
If interested in good music, look up the "Mass for the End of Time." It was written in A.D 1000
"Anonymous Aug. 17, 10:27, I don't believe the world is laughing"
Are you kidding? You obviously didn't read the comments under his YouTube video - which has over 12,000 hits.
The world uses nuts like this to lump all Christians together and marginalize the message of the Gospel.
"No one gives two hoots for the ramblings of this modern "prophet of doom," or any others like him."
Take a look at the first comment on this thread - that kind of debunks your theory.
"For those of you that don't think Jesus is coming soon, I certainly hope you are prepared now to see Him."
Revelation 1: 1
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place
That was written 2000 years ago.
Define: soon.
"If you can look at circumstances in this world today and not see things coming down to finality then you are blind."
I am 50 years old and have been hearing that exact same line since I was in grade school. Again the accuracy rating is 100% negative.
"Things are lined up as never before."
The same thing was said in "The Late Great Planet Earth" back in the 1970's.
When you have the time, take a look at the comments under the book on Amazon. The world is laughing because absolutely nothing in the book has happened. But mostly they are laughing at how gullible Christians are to keep buying the false predictions.
"I feel we are very close"
Feelings are not a good indicator of truth.
"We are now dealing with "religious" wars and ideologies."
The same was true a thousand years ago during the crusades. Which, by the way, was also predicted as the end of times.
"Circumstances are set perfectly according to Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation for Jesus to come."
And they have been for 2000 years. That's why the apostles referred to their time as the last days.
"As I said before Israel is the key"
That is one of four orthodox views of eschatology. And the one that you are espousing has only been around for a little over 100 years.
"I am looking and praying for Jesus to come."
All Christians are. The problem is when we say it is going to happen "soon" - when Christ told us that NO ONE knows the time or season.
If we would only believe Christ, we could have saved ourselves 2000 years of embarrassment.

2 Timothy 4:8
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
Luke 21:28
When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."
Revelation 1:3
Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.
2 Peter 3
3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.
11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?

Paula...good scripture references. Also, note that these things are/have occured more often than in the past....earthquakes, famines, wars and rumors of wars, pestilence. Pakistan has 20 million homeless right now. We are not to be asleep but look for these signs...the fig tree as an example, the fact that things are getting more violent, good is bad and bad is good. Jesus said when these thing start happening look up for your redemption draweth nigh. The generation of those in Israel living in 1948 would not pass away and they are getting older each and every day. Stick with the bible and pay close attention to world events.
Thank you, Anon.
I have spent the day researching report after report about the critical condition of this world. The economy is on life support, the media lie continually, the US is being lured into starting WWIII, and the church is thoroughly corrupt.
But one thing is clear: "I know whom I have believed", and He said that we will never be tempted beyond what we can bear. This has been true of every generation of believers. It is not US and OUR STRENGTH or preparedness that matters in these trying times, but our filling and reliance upon and trust in the power of the Holy Spirit within us. When we speak of steeling ourselves for the trials to come, we have already been defeated, for we are relying on our own strength.
I see every indicator, whether Biblical or secular, converging on this point in history. Even nature is beginning to convulse, as both the sun and the earth are due for magnetic pole reversals at the same time. Truly frightening times-- for those without hope.
But the Groom will not allow His Bride to be ravaged, and will never put her through the judgments reserved for the world, the ungodly, and to finish the judgments against Israel. Escapist? YES!
"Even so come, Lord Jesus!"
Do I care about those who will go through the tribulation? Absolutely! But I also care that with each new generation born, many more will be lost; it's a double-edged sword. But even God's patience has limits, and everything indicates that we have arrived at that point. Halleluia!
Could someone define "soon" for me?
Every time the word is used in the Bible the event occurs within the lifetime of the intended audience.
So, why does "soon" mean over 2000 years in the book of Revelation?
There must be an incredibly compelling reason for this counter-intuitive use of the word. Or could it be that a model of eschatology is being forced onto the text to make it say something that wasn't intended.
For example, in the book of Daniel, the prophesy of the Israelites being taken into captivity is given. The scrolls are commanded to be rolled up because the event is far away. It happened 700 years later.
In the book of Revelation, the prophesies are given and the book is commanded to remain open because these things will take place "soon."
Perhaps we should take the Bible literally and stop trying to force our preconceived models of the end times onto scripture.
Dispensationalism has given Christianity a black eye and has caused the world to laugh at our false predictions. In addition, Christ told us that no one (not even Jesus) knew the time or season.
Anon Aug. 20 8:46am,
I don't have the link right now but I've seen documents showing that "soon" in regards to prophecy in the OT was used even when the gap turned out to be over 400 years in the future. Just FYI.
We must also consider the scholarship that dates Revelation in about AD95.
Perhaps we should take the Bible sensibly and wholistically and stop trying to constrain God to our finite minds and lack of faith.
Hatred of Dispensationalism has given Christianity the biggest black eye (except for all the scandals of course) and caused the world to note the hypocrisy of some Christians mocking and slandering others simply because they TAKE THE BIBLE LITERALLY when it speaks of "that blessed hope" -- NOT "awful dread of the tribulation".
As for "no one knows", it's NOT "the time or season" but "the day or hour". Jesus explicitly told us we must know the "time and season", and Paul said "but this day will not take YOU by surprise". Please see the Jack Kelley site I linked to above for details.
I take the Bible literally AND Dispensations!!!! No problem reconciling either with the other.
A final thought on Preterism, quoting K. Bushnell on a different topic that also applies here:
No greater contrast could be drawn than that between the case of Esau, and the case of Moses... What a fanatic! Looking for a Christ, and sacrificing all the world for that Christ, fifteen hundred years before Christ ever came!
[some say,]... "I do not wish to be among those who are all the time proclaiming that Christ is coming again, and He never comes. They are a laughing-stock. I cannot join them." Such do not "esteem the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt."
... whereas Esau was short-sighted and could not care at all about the future, until it was too late.
And this article:
by Thomas Ice
If Jesus' words about the destruction of the Temple were to be taken literally, then we can't consign His visible return and conquering of the world to mere allegory. If Daniel's prophecy was for weeks of YEARS for the first 69, then we can't arbitrarily make the 70th a LITERAL (!) WEEK. It is Preterism's inconsistency, its double standard, its picking and choosing of which scriptures to take literally, that defeat it.
And that's all I have to say about that. ;-)
We may not understand the word "soon" as much as we should. A day of the Lord is as 1000 years. Moses walk of 40 years was only one hour of time on God's clock. Jesus and the crucifixion was just two days ago on His clock. I like the word soon rather than the word later and hopefully I and a lot of you as well will still be breathing when Jesus returns otherwise we shall meet in the air. So much for time and who is keeping track of it.
"No wonder the lost world thinks Christians are nuts."
That's for sure.
"All of the signs have been fulfilled."
Hilarious.
"I certainly hope you are prepared now to see Him."
Better than a pastor of a mega-church?
"that in the last days scoffers will come"
This has also been true for the last 2000 years.
"A day of the Lord is as 1000 years."
Hilarious.
