Uh Oh....Mike Huckabee Says Ted Cruz is Not a True Christian Since He Doesn't Tithe

Poor Ted Cruz. He has done his best to pander to the devoutly religious conservative Christians this political season, but he forgot about one of the litmus tests used by the religious to determine if you really do love God: are you giving 10% of your gross income to the lovely Lord Jesus (at your local 501(c)3 religious organization)?

I laughed out loud when I heard Mike Huckabee criticize Ted Cruz:
“I just think it’s hard to say God is first in your life if he’s last in your budget. If I can’t trust God with a dime out of each dollar that I earn, then I’m not sure how I can tell him that I trust him with my whole life. To me, it’s a validation of a person’s stewardship and whether they put God first in their life, not just in their political endeavors.”
Join the club, Ted. When the Godly folk like Pastor Mike find you don't tithe on the gross, your commitment to God, to Jesus, and to church and all things holy will be called into question.

And don't forget: Huckabee is not some outlier in his view of tithing and criticizing the non-tither. The current SBC president, Ronnie Floyd, told his congregation that non-tithers aren't true Christians, and they don't know the same God that he knows:
"You gonna go 'clucking' around here talkin' about how you got saved and changed and goin' to heaven when you die and you won't even trust God financially? Lord help ya. That's not the same God I know."
Huckabee added this criticism of Cruz:
“It’s a matter of authenticity. If I say I’m a vegan but you look at me eating hamburgers and ribeye every night you’re going to say, I don’t think this guy’s really a vegan."
So Huckabee believes Cruz is "not really" a Christian. Of course Pastor Mike and Ronnie Floyd know that over 80% of their peeps don't give anywhere near 10% of their income. Clear-thinking Christians are beginning to realize these guys are charlatans who misuse their holy book to squeeze as many nickels as they can from the pews.

All of us that have been in the SBC for any length of time have heard the following from pastors: "If you can't trust God with your finances, how can you trust him with your salvation?"

Maybe Cruz knows what I know, and wrote about last fall - using that same logic - since we don't trust 501(c)3's with our salvation, we sure as hell don't need to trust them with our finances to be considered true Christians.

The problem is that Gateway Elder James Robison emceed that big Wilks Bros Conference in Cisco, TX. Robert Morris, Ronnie Floyd and Sammy Rodriguez - who are renting the Dallas Cowboys $1B stadium this summer right before the RNC and DNC to hold a big fat political rally - were there and did support Cruz at both the meeting and the fund raiser afterwards. Robert Morris already said that he thinks Ted Cruz as a Presidential Candidate is a "pretty good one". Morris also posted a picture of himself and his wife with Ted Cruz at that super-PAC Cisco rally. The genie is out of the bottle.

Anyone familiar with Robert Morris' The Blessed (Cursed) Life teachings knows that this applies to the First Fruits. Ted cannot make this tithe up after the fact. He cannot get a waiver or a pardon. Once you do not write the check out of your "First Fruits" you are cursed forever. You have invited demons to possess you and your family. Your finances are perpetually cursed. Your decisions are cursed. Your family is cursed and you must live forever as a slave to the Spirit of Mammon.

Even the Gateway youth pastors teach the children that they "hate God" and "Love Mammon" when they don't kick in 10% of their allowance, milk money and birthday/Christmas money. How can any Evangelical support a cursed man who engages in a wanton, deliberate, repetitive, sinful lifestyle? What would Robert Morris' new partner Bishop Harry Jackson say about that? Wouldn't that be a little hypocritical?

Ted is the son of a Pentecostal preacher. He knows about tithing. He came to prominence through the aid of his super-PAC leader, Pentecostal Pastor and dubious author, David Barton. Ted Cruz cannot claim he didn't know the rules. He did. So either he is damaged goods that the Evangelicals and Bapticostals must step away from or if Robison, Floyd and Morris continue to support him they have just thrown their core tithe teachings out the window. How can you support a Bapticostal who deliberately doesn't tithe thereby giving himself over week after week to one of the worst forms of unrepentant sin? Which do you think they will choose?

I know who I am voting for and it won't be Cruz. I am supporting the candidate that good old boy Jerry Falwell Jr likes.I think Donald Trump is the man that most exemplifies Jerry Sr and maybe even Jesus himself according to Jerry Jr. Another great whitness for Christianity namely Sarah Palin has also thrown her support to the Don. I wonder if the Don practices first fruits tithing?

SBC president, Ronnie Floyd: "That's not the same God I know."

The above is a true statement. Logically what follows is very disturbing. Clearly as per Jesus Christ we are not bound by Law as we live under Grace. So which God is SBC President believing in? And the whole bunch of SBC too?

We can pretend the above is inconsequential as most do!

As for GOP presidential race, Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina likened a choice between Trump and Cruz to a choice between being shot and poisoned to death.

That too is a true statement!

Isn't life grand?

Watching the republican candidates pander to the evangelicals is almost as fun as watching the Palin clan in a drunken brawl.

Feel the Bern.

More Christians devouring each other for all the world to see. No wonder people are cynical about Christianity. What anyone does with their money is between God and themselves. I would like to see at least someone who has a very healthy respect for at least the 10 commandments, the building block of all societies.

Puddin' the Christian world doesn't understand why people are leaving to become " Nones" and " Dones" at a rapid pace....that Millinials don't attend church anymore.....I am sure they rationalize it by saying " Jesus is coming soon...."

That said, someone in Christian leadership has got to " wake up" and smell the coffee....the Christian World is no longer involved in the Great Commission, they are just businessmen, and I have become convinced they really could care less about winning people to Jesus...

Dogs, the bigger problem with Cruz is that he is a Christian dominionist, like his father. Believes that evangelical Christians should rule the United States and impose OT law, and that none others should have the vote or be in office!

Oh my Lord, what a spectacle this has all become. How does Big Mike know what Ted has been tithing anyway? I thought tithing was something kept between God and the giver. I think Jesus said something about not trumpeting your gift for a show (Matthew 6:2-4). Ted ought to tell big Mike to shut his holy yapper as it's no one's business what someone else gives to God. Of course, these multi-millionaire Christians are quick to talk about other peoples' finances. Guys like Huckabee, Ronnie Floyd, and a gazillion others we could name are holier than thou fat-cat whiners that live like royalty and are so out of touch with average working stiffs like me that they couldn't (wouldn't) live on what I make if their lives depended on it.

Also, you seemed to have cleaned up Ronnie Floyd's grammar somewhat. I think he actually said, "Lord hep ya," not "Lord help ya." I am a conservative Christian and I believe Jesus is God's Son and I believe my name is on the roll, but I've had it with the silliness and foolishness of these millionaire dumb---es passing themselves off as Christian servants.

Okay, I'm stepping down off my soapbox. Keep exposing these charlatans for what they are - I love it.

Puddin to TheGovteach, I wholly agree with you. It is the local body of believers and us as individuals to get the Word out. It is our only mission. There are many young people coming to the truth of their sins and believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. I do not want to discount every young person. I do understand why people are leaving denominations, they are falling like dominoes as they fall away from The Truth. Let us keep the Gospel going out no matter what. We must carry the Gospel on our shoulders to the world as the Levites carried the Tabernacle in their day. Thanks for your comment.

Huckabee really does indeed seem to uphold to the elitist oriented prosperity Gospel movement. He regards Kenneth Copeland as a fishing buddy. Enough said.

So, I wonder what Huckabee would say about someone who tithes their first fruit of ten percent or more, but lives an unrepentant life of total rebellion toward the Lord.
