What Would Jesus Say?

Mac Brunson continues to use the church, its name, its website, its ministries...to further his own agenda and to benefit friends and family. Its sad, so many in the church wish the same men that sat under Dr. Lindsay for so long would not put up with this. The jobs for family members, the spending money on a lavish office suite, the accepting of large gifts from church members, holding the Time to Stand for Israel at the request of "influential deacons", the use of the A-Group marketing firm instead of our own local staff and members...and now the "Holy Land Trip" promotion on our website. Its so sad.

One of our posters submitted a letter that perhaps Jesus would write to Mac. I thought it was very moving, and I have decided to post it here for all to read:

--------------------------------------------------------------------

"My child, Mac. I love you and am very pleased with your faithfulness and commitment to me these many years. But I wonder...why do you feel you are entitled to a life of privilege and luxury because you have been faithful to preach MY word? Driving in luxury automobiles, living in exclusive neighborhoods in million dollar homes, traveling to exotic locales, not showing good stewardship of funds given to my work, accepting large monetary gifts from my sheep, using my funds to employ and enrich your own family? Was that part of my call on your life?

When I return, after I show you a tour of the hungry and poor right outside your church's door, will you be proud to then give me a tour of your luxury office suites, of your home, of how you managed not only your personal wealth gained from preaching my word, but also how the church funds were used. I encourage you my son, to get back to your first love, so that when I return, I will be able to say to you 'Well done.'

I have many plans for the faithful members of FBC Jax, but you have been influenced by the things of this world. Return to me and I will return to you. I don't blame those sheep who are showing their love for me by showing love and generousity towards you and your family. They don't know any better and are ripe for exploitation due to their deep love for me. Please don't take advantage of them. Lead them and don't be afraid to be open and honest about every penny that is spent. Trust me. I will still supply all of your NEEDS. "

Signed,

Jesus

The Lord in 1500 years talked to holy men of God to write the bible. Some of our Godly men have spoken out against the PURPOSE DRIVEN movement. John Mac Arthur said this about Rick Warren's book The Purpose Driven Life. "You will look long and hard to find the GOSPEL in this book on the Purpose Driven Life." We rarely hear the GOSPEL hear at FBC JAX. Jesus said, I AM THE WAY,THE TRUTH,THE LIFE: NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER BUT BY ME. John 14:6 How can the lost come to Jesus without the knowledge of the GOSPEL?

To be honest, I just wonder Jesus would say if he read this blog and some of the posts.

Might be a little food for thought.

Do Not Post . . .

FBC mutt,

I am truly getting bored by your posts . . . judging by the number of posts i'd say the hundreds that follow your site agree.

Your weak arguments are having an impact in my life . . . I am going to go away for awhile. I'll let you spew your venom for a bit without my input . . . not that this bothers you, But remember I know how weak your mindset you really have! go pitch to others . . . I don't buy it!

Your bitterness is obvious to me and I know you feel it . . . you have just learned to block it out . . . . . . ata boy!

I don't think you'll be able to avoid it in the end (just my opinion)

Have a good one, talk with you soon mutt.

No matter how much you whine, there wil be a trip to Israel. And more important God will continue to move in our church! The gospel will continue to be taught it is just blind people like yourself that won't see it . . . oh well your loss :)

You'll always be a mutt to me :) Enjoy the smutt! Your drones are proud of you . . . lol

By Grace,
Brett Blankenship

PS. If you really know me . . . don't come up and be the fake individual you have to be to stay at FBC . . . I promise you i'd recognize it, and I will call you out . . . see I am not much for two-faced individuals!

Farewell Brett - I'll take you at your word that you WILL leave me alone and that this WILL be your last post for a while. Your 6 posts per day that were quite spiteful and sarcastic were quite a laugh, showing how much this site really has gotten to you, how much you really know that there is much truth here, and that you're embarrassed for your church. So take care Brett...but do check back every now and then so you can face the truth about your church and pastor. It will be good for you.

You are such a hypocrite dog....you accuse Brett of the very thing you do...say you are "WILL be your last post for a while"

How many times have you said you'd shut this blog down?

The "truth" you claim to share in this site is so filled with lies and information....it's not even funny.

Good luck, WD....we'll just keep having to watch a "brother" in Christ serving his own sin. Frankly, most of the "Brunson supporters" you shoot down are more concerned about you, your walk with God, and your addiction to this sin than you think.

They have the courage to confront you. The very thing you claim you can't and won't do with pastor Brunson.

All of us know that he is available to speak with after the Sunday evening and Wed. service. We all know.

FBC Jax Watchdog said...

You miss the point Anon.

This is my blog not Brett's. I'll keep the blog up as long as I like. And none of you have to come here and read it.

Yes, I've heard it all along...its all "lies and slander".

I'm not here to "shoot down" Brunson supporters. I don't have a problem with people coming here to "confront" the issues that this blog is about.

Yes, we know how approachable Mac is unlike the previous pastors and that if we just would talk to Mac and get to know him all of these issues would be resolved, we'd see how wrong we are and that all of this is lies. The truth is Mac has our attention every Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night and he can explain these things to us at any time. We're faithful and we are all there, and all he has to do is explain. Like his Holy Land trip - he can tell us in 30 seconds: "I just want you all to know that I get absolutely no financial or travel benefit for this trip unlike most other Holy Land trip hosts, and the church is not paying for my travel on this trip or my family's travel" Perhaps he'll tell us all this, rather than all of us having to see him after the service.

Brett - need to be a bit more concise. Your long private posts are so boring that I don't bother reading them. I thought you would stop. Please find something better to do with your time like you tell me. You've let this blog get to you. If this blog is all lies, why do you hit it so many times a day? Why do you send me private posts so many times a day? You need more self control friend...this blog is lies you think, but you still read it. And then you feverishly type long posts to me that I don't even bother to read. Please, you remind me of a stalker. Go away.

Didn't the pastor say Wednesday night, that he wanted to be seminary professor, or a criminal lawyer, but he had never wanted to be a local pastor? I can believe that.(play the tape).

Not wanting to start some war here but Watchdog--do you actually sit in all of the services at your church? Are you actually an active member of your church?

If so, how in the world can you stand it? I would be out the door in a second if I felt about the pastor like you do.

FBC Jax Watchdog said...

Anon - as we've discussed here previously many times, the church is not the pastor. There are many aspects of the church that have not changed - the people, the ministries, the wonderful music.

Watchdog & Others: A very interesting website is...www.NewsWithViews.com

This site shows whats happening in our churches today. For those of you who don't know the problems we are facing as believers take a look at them!!! What Dave Daubenmire and Paul Proctor say in their articles are needed today: Strong Godly Preachers.

Scroll down to Opinion: "Thumb Suckers" by Coach Dave Daubenmire
This is so typical of a lot of churches this day and time.

Scroll down to Opinion: "Southern Baptist Now in Decline". Also, at the bottom of this last article are four more related items which are quite interesting, especially today.

1. MacArthur-The Emergent Church is a form of Paganism

2. Christian Colleges that Promote Comtemplative Spirituality

3. From God's Truth to a New Spirituality

4. Video Interview with Ed Setzer on SBC's decline.

If these articles don't wake us up, then nothing will. We are in a WAR spiritualy for reaching those going to HELL.

Then let me phrase it another way...

Do you do anything in the church besides just attend?

How often do you attend services?

Do you tithe to your home church?

Do you actively share the Gospel and bring people to church with you?

If the answer to these questions is no then you probably shouldn't be out there criticizing everyting that goes on.

FBC Jax Watchdog said...

Anon - I would answer your questions, but they are irrelevant to this blog.

And I'm not criticizing everything that goes on. Just the abusive actions of Mac Brunson.

Watchdog, 10:47 is right on. Paul Proctor in one of the articles said this " ...the emerging civil war that's brewing over the liberal theology and pagan practices infiltrating southern baptist churches around the country and transforming them into something more culturally relevant? So, heretical harmony and brotherly blasphemy are better than iron sharpening iron, huh? Just how does one earnestly contend for the faith without debate, ...sit in a circle, hold hands and hum? Preach the word be instance in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrice."2Timothy 4:2 WE JUST NEED SOME GOOD OLD FASHION PREACHING. I'm afraid that Mac is too far gone. We can't change him, the members won't change him, only the WORD-JESUS, can change him. Keep on praying for Mac.

Watchdog, 12:01 still doesn't get it. He may be a BAPTIST, the members may be BAPTIST, but the list grows day by day that Mac is something else. Presbyterian? Presbyterian-Baptist? Reformed Church of America? Baptist? WE CAN'T TELL! It is not we who have changed!

The financial industry is in crash mode right now. The problems stem from CEOs who have brought in bad investment stratagies. Many of these CEOs have been fired. What do we do with preachers who bring in questionable practices? Woe is me!

Watchdog : Found an interesting read....its found in the Dallas Morning News of Feb 19, 2006. The website can be located by inserting Mac Brunson On The Border in the Search field, or www.snpa.org/CircuitContestAwards/McKenzie1a.pdf

It is on the Editorial Page with the banner ...Story Flushed him Out.... and is written by a disgruntled member of FBC Dallas.

Here is the letter referred to:

Story flushed him out
Re: “Couldn’t you wait a day?”
by Jan Weaver, Tuesday Letters.

Mac Brunson is a secretive person
and would not have said anything
last Sunday about leaving
the church had it not been published.
Thanks to your paper, he
had to “come clean.”
In this church, Dr. Brunson
keeps everything private. If the
members have an opinion, they
are wrong.
I am a member of First Baptist
Church of Dallas, and I am a very
hurt person, along with many others.
He tore down the best building
the church owned and now is
leaving us with $11 million in debt.
I just hope they accept Dr.
Brunson to pastor the First Baptist
Church of Jacksonville, Fla., before
he does any more damage
here.
